Lisa Moyer I know all about "rehabilitation" I was a vet tech 25 years ago. Not unfamiliar with training dogs. Bottom line even if you have the "Dog Whisperer" Rehabilitating... There is no GUARANTEE. That in it's self is a risk. A risk myself and many others bare the scars. These dogs should be placed with military only not "loving homes" with children and other pets. Until you as a responsible shelter request proof of liablity ins and make strides in tightening up chapter 767.....I am not convinced.

here is the latest on Polk Humane society
everyone go to my tiny little post to the Polk County Florida Humane Society FB page before they delete it. this has been the discussion so far.
The Humane Society of Polk County, Inc. Lisa, I believe you do not understand our agency's involvement in this case. We, the Humane Society of Polk County, accepted 26 puppies under the age of 3 months and most of them a few weeks old. We, the Humane Society of Polk County, did not send a single animal out of Polk County. We have partnered with our local vets and their techs have been fostering them until they are old enough to be adopted out. We have an APDT-KA trainer who is handling their training and socialization. When they are approved by our partnering Veterinarians and our trainer they will be adopted into loving homes. We would never adopt out a dog that would be a threat to the safety of our adopted families or the community.
